01Who we are
Detailvio (“we”) makes booking and payments software for auto detailing businesses in Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
It covers two groups of people: detailers who use Detailvio to run their business, and the customers who book with them.
02Your data and your customers’ data
When a detailer adds customers, bookings, vehicles and photos to Detailvio, that information belongs to the detailer. You own your customer list. Always. We store and process it on your behalf so the product works, and we don’t use it for anything else.
If you booked a detail with a business that uses Detailvio, that business is responsible for your information. Contact them first with any questions about it.
03What we collect
From detailers
- Account details: name, email, password and phone number.
- Business details: business name, address, time zone, services, prices and hours.
- Billing details for your Detailvio plan. Card numbers are handled by Stripe, not stored by us.
From customers who book
- Name, phone number and email.
- Vehicle details, the service booked, and a service address for mobile jobs.
- Photos the detailer takes of the vehicle.
- Payment status. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see full card numbers.
From everyone
- Basic technical information like browser, device and pages visited, used to keep the service running and secure.
04How we use it
- To run bookings, calendars, reminders, job tracking and status pages.
- To process deposits and payments through the detailer’s own Stripe account.
- To send confirmations, reminders and “your car is ready” messages by text and email on the detailer’s behalf.
- To bill detailers for their plan and provide support.
- To keep Detailvio secure and fix problems.
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use customers’ information to market to them.
05Texts and emails
Detailvio sends booking messages for the detailer the customer booked with. These are about that booking, not marketing. Detailers are responsible for having their customers’ permission to contact them.
Customers can reply STOP to any text to stop texts from that business, and START to turn them back on. Booking emails still arrive.
06Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers we need to run Detailvio:
- Stripe, for payments and deposits.
- A texting provider and an email provider, to send messages.
- Hosting and storage providers, to run the app and keep data, photos and logos.
- Security and error-reporting tools, to block spam and fix problems.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
07Where it’s stored
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. When they do, it’s protected by contract, and it may be subject to the laws of that country.
08How long we keep it
We keep account and booking information while the account is active. If a detailer asks us to delete their business, we delete its data within 30 days, except where we need to keep records for legal or tax reasons.
Moving to a lower plan doesn’t delete anything. Paid features become read-only: on Free, existing photos stay visible, and adding new ones needs a paid plan again.
09Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and withdraw consent where it applies. Detailers can edit their data in Detailvio and download customers, vehicles, bookings and payments as CSV files.
Customers of a detailer should usually contact that business first. If you can’t reach them, contact us and we’ll help.
10Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and trusted providers to protect information. No system is perfect, and we’ll tell affected people and the regulator if a breach puts anyone at real risk of harm, as the law requires.
11Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember which business you’re working in. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.
12Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we’ll update the date at the top and let detailers know by email.
